Digital
Photo Books
Here's the top three
books on Digital Photos we like best!
|
Many
different Digital Photo books can explain and teach the basics of
Digital Photography but there are a few that do it much better
than others. Teaching is different than writing a nonfiction
adventure. It takes a very good writer to explain some pretty
technical information and do it in such a way as to make it both
entertaining and understandable.
Both the
subject matter and the writing styles of the three books below
offer a great source of information on the different aspects of
digital photography. The key is communicating the relevant
information and not to bore or try to impress the reader.
Each one of
these books covers different elements that can help you become a
better photographer. Since photography is both an art and a
science, you need to understand a little about both areas. The art
is in the subject matter and how you visualize the photo you want.
The technical aspects give you the necessary knowledge on
exposure, your digital camera (or any camera), and lighting.
Even if you
just want to take pictures of your family, pets, vacations, and
friends you can learn a lot from these three books. And if you
want to be a serious amateur photog, these are definitely a great
starting point in your education.
The common
thread through all there of these books is that the author uses
easy to understand language to explain the many photography
elements. A little knowledge goes a long way in photography. And
understanding the basics will improve your photos dramatically.

How
To Do Everything

|
This
is a great book about digital photography from equipment,
editing photos on your computer, and how to get the best
shot on any digital camera.
Although the title is a
little overkill, the author does go from A to Z on many of
the must know digital photography information. It's clear
and concise and can easily be used for a reference book
forever.
Sells for $17 - Available on Kindle.

This book
talks about hands on solutions. Here’s how Scott describes it: "If you and I were out on a shoot, and you asked me, 'Hey, how do I get this flower to be in focus, but I want the background out of focus?' I wouldn't stand there and give you a lecture about aperture, exposure, and depth of field. In real life, I'd just say, 'Get out your telephoto lens, set your f/stop to f/2.8, focus on the flower, and fire away.' You d say, 'OK,' and you'd get the shot.
Cool!

The
Photographer's Eye

|
The
biggest weak spot I see with new photographers is being
able to get the best composition of the subject matter.
This book explains and
demonstrates how you can get a great looking photo and the
difficult art of framing the subject matter.
The illustrations are the
key and Michael Freeman does an excellent job of
explaining the techniques to any novice or beginner.
Sells for $20 Available
on Kindle.
