Digital
Photography Classes
You can find great
Digital Photography Classes locally
|
Finding
good digital photography classes is not hard since there are
several good sources. Several will be in your local area, some my
be provided by digital camera companies, and of course there are
some good online classes too.
I would
recommend you start with some type of local digital photography
classes first. I have two reasons, one is you will get more hands
on experience in a face to face class. And two, you'll meet some
others who you can learn from and with in you quest for better
understanding of digital photography.
Two good
sources for local classes are community colleges and universities,
and adult education organizations. Community colleges usually
offer both beginner and advanced classes, often at night and on
the weekends so anyone can attend. They are usually fairly cheap
and offer some good information and the ability to meet some
people who you can discuss, practice with, and learn from.
The
university classes will have beginner classes too but also have
some interesting special subject areas like advertising and
marketing photography or photo journalism classes. These advanced
classes can offer you the next step up to improving your skills.
The adult
classes are really cheap and are often taught by talented local
photographers who can teach you a lot about real world
photography. The subject matter is often tied to specific aspects
of photography like taking photos of local wildlife or scenery.
Once again you will meet a lot of folks with similar interests
that can help you learn more about photography.
Several of
the larger digital camera manufacturers often present local
classes on their models and digital photography in general. Nikon
has quite an extensive offering on many of it's most popular
cameras. These classes are scheduled all over the country at
different times of year. You can go to your camera manufacturer's
website and check to see what they offer and get a schedule and
location list.
There are
also many online classes but I would recommend you try some local
digital photography classes first. Hands on experience with your
specific camera and instant feedback can be much more effective.
Plus the interaction of the other students is a big help when you
are just starting out. Some online courses do offer videos and/or
DVD's that can be a good training tool since you can go back and
review at any time.
If you
don't have any local classes that are close enough, you can also
check around to see if there are any clubs or organizations that
might offer some type of training. These clubs and associations
can be a big help and offer some great hands on experience for the
novice. They might be birding clubs that are into bird watching
but also have photography classes just for taking pictures of
birds.
And don't
forget family and friends. You might know someone who has a little
experience and is willing to share. Going out to practice with
another person or group is always a good experience since everyone
can offer some different information or help in specific areas of
digital photography.
Digital
Photography Classes come in all subjects areas and prices. If you
check around you will be able to find classes that fit your
budget, experience, and time.
