Photo Editing Online
There are quite a few
online photo editors, here's the best!

There are
quite a few free photo editors online that you can take for a test
spin and see if you like them. But if you want to save time, I've
reduced all the different online photo editors to the two best
choices (in my humble opinion). There's a reason I went down to
just two free photo editing online websites.
It's all
about what level of skill (both photo editing and computer
software you have) and what kind of photo editing you want or
need. I have divided the
users into two basic groups, first group wants it simple, easy, and
only needs to do basic photo editing chores. The second group is really into it
and wants absolute control over every facet and doesn't mind
spending some time and effort to learn how to use all of the
features in a sophisticated photo editing software program online
or not.
First
Group - Novices & Beginners - Best choice is
FotoFlexer.com: If you just want to do some basic photo editing
like making a dark photo lighter, change size or crop, maybe some
clean up of backgrounds, or some common special effects, this
website is for you. I don't even know where to start this website
has so many features. About 90% of whatever you would want to
change on any digital photo is possible.
The best
way to see all the different possibilities and editing tools is to
go visit the FotoFlexer.com website and try the demo. The
Tutorials are short and extremely easy to understand. You upload
your digital photo and work from your browser, can't get much
easier than that for free online photo editing.
This
website is totally menu driven and has an extremely easy to learn
interface. Lot's of examples, automated functions, and it's very
easy to do some pretty impressive editing work. I'd willing to bet
that if you got some free photo editing software with your digital
camera that causes you problems, this is a great solution.
Second
Group - Serious Amateur Photographers - Best Choice is
Pixlr.com: This is a very in depth free photo editing online
website. It reminds me of Photo Shop's little brother Adobe
Elements Photoshop 9. This is not really for people who don't want
to spend some time learning the ropes and getting familiar with
all the many menu choices and manual adjustments. Pixlr.com has a
learning curve (although if you have ever used a high end stand
alone photo editor you will catch on quickly).
Depending
on the size of photo and special effect, you need to be patient
since it may take a moment or two to see your changes. In my
tests I probably used too large of a photo (3072 X 2304 and about
3.5 megs) so it did take getting used to waiting for the results.
But considering the power and scope of your adjustments,
that's acceptable.
Pixlr.com
does have an express mode where you have a small set of special
effects with one click. But they are somewhat limited and for most
of these effects I would go with the FotoFlexer.com website.
I can't
even tell you how many people I have showed or sent to one of
these two websites for free photo editing online. And every single
one has been happy with their results. I'm not sure I would have
the patience (working online is slower) or flexibility of some of
my stand alone (I've got a lot of custom effects encoded in
Photoshop) tools but these two online website are impressive.
In fact if
you like photography, they can be addictive. And for many of my
website design work they are fast and easy to use all onlind. So
take a look at both recommended free photo editing online programs
and see it they will work for you.
